May Day

Today has been an amazing day for children at Medway, as we have celebrated May Day; a traditional British occasion. As a part of this, every class led their own activities for others to try, including making your own flower pots, making a bird feeder and much more. Children could also sample a traditional British afternoon tea of cucumber sandwiches and fruit, led by Year 6. Following this, we then also crowned our May King and Queen from each Key Stage, children who teachers chose as following our schools’ values. To celebrate their crowning, we had a procession in their honour, followed by Maypole dancing by Foundation Stage, and Morris dancing by Year 4. Some of the Kings and Queens were nervous, others excited, but I felt proud to be selected by my teachers, making me feel that my hard work is appreciated.
