This week, year 4 have been writing their own poetry using personification inspired by the 'Big 6' Romantic poets - Blake, Byron, Wordsworth, Coleridge, Keats and Shelley!
We were lucky to have a visit from Dr Allan Hayes (FRSA, PhD, Founder TEDxLeicester, Public Speaker on Humanity) who spoke to us about Humanism. This supported the children's understanding of their Spring 1 topic - The Age of Enlightenment

To complement our KS2 curriculum on Shakespeare, we thought we would bring to life some of his more famous characters.
Year 4 walked 2.5km through the mist in Swithland Woods this morning! They recreated Frankenstein’s emotional and physical journey to support their descriptive writing in Literacy

Year 4 have been learning about the Ancient Greeks through the lens of the epic poem written by Homer 'The Iliad'. They had a successful trip to London to visit the Troy: Myth and Reality exhibition at the British Museum.

Medway's Year 6 Latin Club take first place in an annual Latin reading competition!
Medway's Year 6 Latin club pupils were honoured to participate in this prestigious event, organised by the East Midlands Association of Classical Teachers and the University of Leicester's Archaeology and Ancient History departments. Reading a Latin version of Little Red Riding Hood, our four student team won over the judges to come top of the nearly twenty teams that participated. Discipuli optimi sunt! Gratulatio!
