BBC Stargazing Live

As part of our school’s eclipse celebrations, Year 5 went to Leicester Racecourse to take part in BBC Stargazing Live. The children were able to learn about many different aspects of science, talking to various university students and professions. All the children were excited to attend an interactive lesson with a presenter from ‘Technobabble’, many were inspired to work in space. It was an excellent opportunity for the children to see how instrumental science was in ways that caught their imagination – for example how astronauts went to the toilet in space! The Year 5 teachers were extremely proud of the maturity the children showed in asking deep questions and discussing big concepts with university students and professionals who specialised in these areas.
