• Ms Alam's Group to Rutland Waters

  Ms Alam "We had a trip to Rutland Waters recently for the ladies group.  They absolutely loved it.  Time out for their mental wellbeing.  They relaxed, went for walks, and made friends with other mums. There were so many mature cherry trees with lots of cherries.  Mums went a bit crazy picking the cherries, it reminded them of picking mangoes in Bangladesh."

  

• Year 5 and Year 6 University of Leicester

  Years 5 and 6 visited the University of Leicester, who celebrated its 100 years of existence with a historical Peace Tour. Children found out how different buildings were used as hospitals during the war and even how David Attenborough and his brother lived on the campus! We were amazed by all the history right on our doorstep!

  

• Summer Holiday Activities and Food Programme - for eligible FSM Children

  Dear all  The Holiday Activities and Food Programme (HAF) will be available over the summer holidays for children eligible for benefits-related free school meals.  We are asking for your help to reach children who may benefit from this programme.    Eligible children can access up to 4 weeks of free activities and they will also receive a healthy lunch each day that they attend.     There are over 60 programmes taking place across the city for parents to choose from.  The dates, times and age suitability will differ by provider.   Spaces will be allocated on a first come first served basis to children and young people who meet all of the following criteria: live in Leicester City are receiving benefits related free school meals are in the age range for that programme Please distribute the list of programme providers to parents/carers.  Parents/carers can also find details directly from families.leicester.gov.uk/haf. Do encourage parents and carers to book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.  Registration will close on Sunday 29 June.

• Year 4 Visit to Graysford Hall Care Home.

  On Monday, some of our year 4 and 5 children visited Graysford Hall Care Home to perform for Dementia Action Week! The visitors thoroughly enjoyed listening to the children sing a selection of songs from musicals such as the Sound of Music and Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat, as well as others! We really enjoyed ourselves and have been invited back.

  

• Year 4 Multiplication Tables Check 2022

  The government has introduced a multiplication test for year 4 children across the country. This test will be taking place in June 2022.

• Year 5 Outdoor Pursuit Centre

  This week Year 5 visited the Leicester Outdoor Pursuit centre, where they made their own rafts and then got to trial them on the River Soar. They had the best time and did not want to leave!
