• Richard III visit

  On Monday Year 5 were extremely lucky. We all visited the Cathedral, the Guildhall and the Richard III visitor's centre. After a windy stroll down New Walk, we finally arrived to see the magnificent Cathedral and gardens. We were amazed by how old and beautiful everything was. We also saw Richard III's final resting place. After a quick visit to the Guildhall, we shared a delicious lunch in the garden.

   

  The afternoon as very exciting. The newly opened visitors centre told us all about Richard's early life, his reign as King of England and his death at The Battle of Bosworth. Upstairs, we were able to learn about the University of Leicester's discovery and the determination of the Richard III society in finding their King.  We discovered how science and history worked together to uncover Richard's remains, and then prove it was really the King.

   

  The discovery of Richard's body has allowed the University to prove and disprove some of the rumours about the King.

   

  We were fantastic representatives for our school, and museum staff commented on how polite and well behaved we were. They were impressed by our knowledge and the questions we asked.

   

  Well done Year 5.

  

• Macmillan Coffee Morning 2015

  We invite you to attend our "Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning" on Friday 25th September in our Junior Dining Hall between 9.00 and 11.00 am.

   

  Children will be baking yummy cakes for the event and we will be asking only £1.00 for tea/coffee and cake.

   

  Donations of cakes, big or small, will be most welcome and I know many of you like to contribute by sending donations as well.  Everything and all of you parents are most welcome!
