Year 2 Blog

Hello Year 2,

How strange it is to be at home from school when it is not the weekend and not holiday time.

What are you doing whilst at home?

Have you visited the Learning From Home page under the Children tab on our school website?

Have you logged on to Purple Mash?

We have set some tasks for you to do!  How many of you have already started on these?

We are looking forward to seeing what you achieve.  Don't forget to ask for help if you need it.

We will see you all again soon.  Have fun! smileyheart

Our Visit to Melbourne Hall Church

After learning all about churches as places of worship in R.E lessons this term, year 2 thoroughly enjoyed their visit on Friday morning. They found it very interesting to hear all about the history of the church and to find out when it was built. They now understand why Mr Meyer and Mr Walker are so important to Melbourne Hall. Year 2 were also able to see some of the important features of churches that they've been learning about for themselves. This included sitting on the pews and listening to what the church's original organ would have sounded like when it was played. The children were especially excited to see stained glass windows in real life, and they were amazed that thousands of pieces of glass are used to create just one window!

Year 2 would like to say a big thank you to all those at Melbourne Hall Church that took the time to show us around.
